Math Day 2008
Registration Dealine: Monday, October 27th, 2008
Thursday, November 6th, 2008 on the CSU campus, the 32nd Annual Math Day will be held at Lory Student Center. Math Day is a day of competitive mathematics for high school students from the state of Colorado and surrounding area. The highlight of the day is a tournament featuring head-to-head team competition with students from peer high schools.
The cost is $10.00 per student and registration is by recommendation of high school teachers.
Events include:
- PROBE: (Problems Requiring Original and Brilliant Efforts)
- A written exam featuring challenging problems with potential scholarships for the ten highest scores.
Team Competition:

A college bowl-type tournament involving three-member teams from high schools around the state. A trophy is awarded to each of the small- and large-school winning teams.

Individuals who are participating independent of a high school are welcome to take the PROBE exam, but the TEAM competitions are reserved for teams sponsored by a high school.
There are some additional requirements that any potential scholarship awardees must be aware of. Should they
decide to attend Colorado State University, the scholarships are restricted to students who claim mathematics
as their primary major. In event that a student recipient receives multiple awards, they are eligible to collect on only the highest amount awarded. Also, a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 must be maintained every semester to continue
receiving the scholarship. Visitor parking passes will now cost $1.50 per vehicle (does NOT include school busses).
Participants may include the correct amount with the registration payment. The requested number of parking passes will
be mailed with the post-registration follow-up mailing. For information on Math Day contact Christie Franklin at
